Anyibuife Age Grade, Achina breaks record in self-help efforts, builds and hands over monumental Chief Magistrate Court Complex




The Chief Magistrate Court Complex 
Anambra State Government has inaugurated a Chief Magistrate Court built by Anyibuife Age Grade, Achina in Achina Community, Aguata Council Area.

The Chief Magistrate Court which is handicap-accessible, has a court hall, six offices and four conveniences, and will serve Achina, Amesi, Akpo, Umuchu and Uga Communities.

It is one of the projects completed by members of Anyibuife Age Grade as part of their official outing and formal declaration as a lawful age grade by the President General of Achina, Barr Chito Ezeani on the 30th of December, 2018.

Other projects embarked on by the Age Grade include installation of streetlights across major streets in the community and donation of a 100kva Power generating set to power the lights.

Inaugurating the facility, Justice Umeadi said a Chief Magistrate, an assistant Registrar and 21 Judicial officials to undertake proceedings at the court, commended Achina Community for embarking on the project which he noted has prospects to bring about socio-economic development of the town.

“We have posted officials committed to promoting justice in line with the core cardinal principles of the Anambra state judiciary to avail justice to the common man. While we cannot guarantee that there will not be little skirmishes here and there, we wish to remind people of this area that the Judicial Service Commission exists where people can vent their grievances about misconduct by any judiciary official”, the Chief Judge said.

The Traditional Ruler of Achina, Igwe Nnaemeka Obiorah said with the project, Achina Community has again assumed its rightful position as a pace-setter in positive areas.

In a welcome remark, the President General, Achina Town Union, Barr Chito Ezeani while noting that the project is part of the Community’s efforts at bringing justice closer to the people, said the community is committed to support the court to function effectively.

Barr Ezeani noted that the site of the magistrate court is a large expanse of land earmarked for the defunct Amaiyi Secretariat and said the Community looks forward to a more robust relationship with the State Judiciary that will translate into the establishment of a High Court and other major facilities in the Community.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Age grade, Chief Azubuike Ezendiokwele and a Stakeholder in the town, Chief joe Nwakpadolu said Achina Community is moving forward and the project will complement efforts at sustaining the progressive movement.

The Chief Judge later inspected the facility after which he was treated to performances by masquerade and cultural troupes from the community.
