The Çandidate of Labour Party (LP) for the November 8 Anambra Governorship Election, Chief George Moghalu has reaffirmed his confidence over the party's victory in the November 8 election.
Moghalu gave the assurance on Friday at the official unveiling of Mrs Ifeoma Veronica Okaro as his running mate for the upcoming poll.
He dismissed insinuations about coalition and factionalization of the party, stressing that the party remained united and battle-ready for the contest.
Presenting Okaro to party members in a well-attended event, Moghalu explained that she was carefully chosen after due consultations to ensure gender balanced ticket.
He described Okaro as committed party member with wealth of experience, shared objective and strategic vision to change the narratives of the state.
"Myself and my Deputy, Mrs Okaro, we have a commitment not to let you down. We have discussed and we have agreed to partner together to keep to all our promises. We have agreed to change the narratives.
"Your labour will not be in vain. Hold me to my promise. I don't say what I can not do. This confidence you have placed on me, I will not fail you, I will not disappoint you, I will not let you down," he vowed.
Underscoring the importance of party loyalty, the LP flagbearer urged members to gird their loins and work for the success of the party in their various localities.
"Labour Party will definitely emerge victorious in the election as long as the party remain united and battle ready for the contest," he added.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Ifeoma Okaro, thanked God for her nomination and appreciated the Governorship Candidate as well as the entire party structure for having confidence and faith in her.
She sued for the support of party faithful to enable Labour Party win the gubernatorial poll, assuring of her unflinching loyalty to the party.
A Chieftain of the party and Member of House of Representatives, Hon George Ozodinobi described Moghalu as a very consistent politician who should be supported to wrestle power from the incumbent.
Acknowledging that the contest would be tough, Ozodinobi noted that the party has the structure and capacity to unseat the ruling party.
Earlier, State Chairman of the Party, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh, noted that the party's flag bearer has endeared himself to the people of the state with his track record, integrity and commitment to deliver on his promises.
Okaro, a retired educationist and immediate past Chairman of Post Primary Schools Service Commission (PPSSC), left government service in DMGS Onitsha in 2014 and currently Heads Education Directorate, Anglican Communion.
She hails from Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
