A pro-community group, the Agidi First Assembly (AFA) has
passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the community's President
General, Hon. Ebuka David Onuorah, citing completed infrastructure projects and
enhanced security measures in Enugwu-Agidi as evidence.
In letter dated October 10, 2025, AFA highlighted the
revitalization of the Enugwu-Agidi Secretariat Complex, which now functions as
an effective administrative center. The full reconstruction of the Mkpasalaku
Bridge, dilapidated for over two decades, is also noted as a major achievement.
Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed in strategic locations across
the community to bolster security.
The statement credits past leaders, including Okoli, Okam,
and Umeano, with establishing foundational infrastructure such as
electrification, tarred roads, administrative blocks, a post office, Government
Technical College, and Girls Secondary School. It positions Onuorah’s
administration as continuing this legacy of development.
The AFA also acknowledges Onuorah’s support for indigent
residents through social interventions, though details of these programs were
not specified.
Recognizing that transformative leadership often faces
criticism, the assembly compares Onuorah to historical figures such as Nelson
Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King Jr.,
emphasizing that enduring impact outweighs public opinion.
The group expresses alignment with Governor Chukwuma
Soludo’s development agenda while attributing local project execution to
Onuorah’s leadership.
The statement concluded with a call for community unity and
youth involvement in promoting positive narratives about Enugwu-Agidi, urging
residents to support ongoing initiatives.
Independent verification by this reporter, including site
visits and interviews with residents and contractors, confirmed the completion
of the Secretariat Complex upgrade, the reconstructed Mkpasalaku Bridge, and
the operational CCTV network.
Residents attested to Onuorah’s direct role in driving
multiple transformational projects, raising questions about the motives of
persistent critics.
